호주에서 piss/take a piss/take the piss/pissed off/piss-up/piss take

호주에서는 "piss" 하나로 술, 농담, 화남, 비, 오줌등 표현할 수 있는게 정말 엄청 많은데, 이에 대해서 한번 알아보자.

이 동사하나만 제대로 써도, 오 좀 로컬처럼 영어하네라는 소리를 들을 수도 있다.

1. piss / take a piss: 오줌 누다

(친한 사이에서만 쓰자.  보통은 go to the toilet 이 제일 무난하다.)
 
Can you pull over at the Macca's? I need to take a piss. 
(맥도날드에 차 좀 세워줘, 오줌 눠야겠어.)
He pissed behind the shed.
(걔 창고 뒤에서 오줌 쌌어.)
 
 

2. I’m pissed: 술에 취하다

(북미에서는 I am pissed (off)는 화났다는 의미로 쓴다.)
 
How much did you drink last night? Were you pissed?
(어젯밤에 얼마나 마신거야? 취했었어?)

 

 

3. on the piss: 술 마시는 중

Where are you? I am on the piss at a pub.
(어디야? 펍에서 술마시며 놀고 있어.)
We’re going on the piss after the party.
(일 끝나고 술 마시러 갈 거야.)
 
 

4. piss-up:  파티, 술자리

There’s a piss-up at my place tonight. Can you come?
(오늘 밤 우리집에서 술자리가 있는데, 올 수 있어?)
 
 

5. piss down: 비가 억수같이 오다 (pour down도 같이 자주 쓴다.)

It was pissing down on my way home after work. 
(일 마치고 집에 오는데 비가 미친듯이 오는거야.)
We got soaked. It started to piss down.
(완전 홀딱 젖었네, 비가 퍼붓기 시작했거든.)
 
 

6. a piece of piss: 아주 쉬운 일 (식은 죽먹기 같은 일, Easy peasy도 같이 자주 쓴다.) 

Are you able to fix the tap?  Piece of piss. 
(수도꼭지 고칠 수 있어? 식은 죽먹기야.)
The job was a piece of piss.
(그 일은 정말 껌이야.)
 
 

7. piss weak: 아주 약하거나, 질이 떨어지는

That coffee was piss weak.
(그 커피는 정말 밍밍했어.)
His excuse was piss weak.
(걔 변명은 너무 허접했어.)
 
 

8. I’m pissed off:  화나다, 성질나다

I’m really pissed off about my shares. 
(주식때문에 완전 짜증났어.)
I was pissed off to hear the news.
( 그 소식 듣고 정말 성질났어.)
 
 

9. piss off: 꺼져, 저리가 / 짜증 나게 하다(piss someone off)

Piss off, mate. I’m not in the mood.
(꺼져. 지금 기분 안 좋아.)
My boss is really pissing me off.
(내 메니저 정말 짜증나게 해.)
 
 

10. take the piss: 놀리다

Are you taking the piss?
(지금 나 놀리는 거야?)
Oi, Stop taking the piss!
(야, 그만 좀 놀려!)
 
 

11. a piss take: 말도 안돼는 상황, 부당한 상황, 황당한 상황, 바가지. 

Paying $10 for a coffee is a total piss take!
(커피 한잔에 10불 이라고, 말도 안돼.)
