spit the dummy

누군가에게 유치하게 짜증낼때 종종 사용되는 spit the dummy라는 표현에 대해서 알아보자.

아기가 짜증나거나 뭔가 마음에 안들때,  "고무 젖꼭지를 뱉다" 라는 의미인데,  "누군가에게 짜증내다, 삐지다 " 정도의 뜻을 가지고 있다.

 

Dummy는 호주에서  아기들의 고무 젖꼭지 (pacifier 혹은 soother)의 의미로 자주 사용된다.
